The Edison
at Maple Grove

  • Multi-Family

The Edison apartments is a new community offering a blend of comfort, convenience, and modern luxury in the heart of Maple Grove, Minnesota. JPL out of St. Louis was the developer. Kaas Wilson was the architecture and design firm chosen to bring the project to life. Their firm has generated award-winning projects across the U.S. as the result of their work.

The Edison is comprised of two apartment buildings and community areas including a rooftop sky lounge. According to Katelyn Hadley, Interior Designer with Kaas Wilson, the design intent was to deliver an upscale, amenity rich, lively environment. “The owner wanted to appeal to a younger demographic, so we looked to nature for our inspiration…grasslands and wildlife and vibrant sunsets.”

“Aurora was brought in to collaborate with us. They are super easy to work with, and the client also loves them, so there was no need for an RFP.”

Stephanie Borens was the Account Executive on The Edison. “We enjoy working with Kaas Wilson. They are very good at specifications, so we rarely have questions. Our role is to keep them on the critical path to meet their deadlines, provide product options and alternatives, and anticipate any pitfalls we can see prior to installation.”

According to Katelyn challenges encountered were primarily on the construction side. “Stephanie and Lindsey Bakkum, Sr. Project Lead are always quick to respond to any problems during the process. Great communication throughout”. Katelyn was strong on her praise for Emerald Blue—Omni’s service division and their installation team. “Emerald Blue was exceptional. From Tim Sedesky at the warehouse, to those reviewing the plans on site—everyone knew what was going on. They were organized and efficient.”

The project will technically be done in May 2025 when the outdoor design is complete. “Property management is really happy with the result,” said Katelyn. “The residents feel the same way.” Stephanie adds, “Working with Kaas Wilson is always a success because it is not transactional. It’s based on a relationship of mutual respect. That makes working together fun.”
