The Edison – Maple Grove, MN
Developer | JPL Development
Architecture Firm | Kaas Wilson
The Edison is a residential community offering a blend of comfort, convenience, and modern luxury in the heart of Maple Grove, Minnesota. Developed by JPL out of St. Louis, the project was brought to life by architecture and design firm Kaas Wilson, known for their award-winning work on multi-family projects across the country.
The development includes two apartment buildings and several shared community spaces, including a rooftop sky lounge. According to Katelyn Hadley, Interior Designer at Kaas Wilson, the vision was to create an upscale, amenity-rich environment with a vibrant, youthful feel. “The owner wanted to appeal to a younger demographic, so we looked to nature for inspiration—grasslands, wildlife, and vibrant sunsets.”

While most challenges arose during construction, the procurement process remained smooth. “Stephanie and Lindsey Bakkum, our Sr. Project Lead, were always quick to respond to any issues,” said Hadley. “Communication was excellent throughout.” She also praised Aurora’s sister brand in the service division, Emerald Blue, for their outstanding performance. “From Tim Sedesky in the warehouse to the team reviewing plans onsite — everyone was organized, informed, and efficient.”
Stephanie Borens served as Aurora’s Account Executive on the project. “We enjoy working with Kaas Wilson. Their specifications are very thorough, so we rarely have questions. Our role is to keep them on the critical path, provide timely product options and alternatives, and help anticipate any issues before installation.”
“Property management is really happy with the results,” Katelyn shared. “The residents feel the same way.” Stephanie added, “Working with Kaas Wilson is always a success because it’s not transactional — it’s a relationship based on mutual respect, which makes working together fun.”
