The local partnership responsible for the makeover of the historic Foshay Tower in downtown Minneapolis into an upscale hotel was challenged with preserving the past while melding with the new.
As a part of the exclusive W brand, preserving the Foshay’s historic features was complicated by the building’s unusual obelisk shape. This tapered shape resulted in 53 different guest room layouts, substantially more than a conventional hotel.
In order to meet the project objective of furnishing 230 rooms, as well as restaurants, lounges and common areas, Aurora partnered directly with factories and mills around the world with the capacity and experience to custom manufacture FF&E assets specified by the W Hotel’s design firm. Aurora Procurement Solutions also delivered all OS&E and managed the entire installation, on-time and on-budget.
